“Poland deserves our full recognition for its commitment and enormous effort to support the Ukrainian people, in spirit and with the ability to show extraordinary hospitality, for which all of Europe should be grateful” – Stefania Craxi, chairwoman of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee in the Italian Senate said after meeting with Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Arkadiusz Mularczyk in Rome in Thursday.
Senator Craxi, quoted by the ANSA agency, said after talks with the deputy head of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs: “We have excellent relations with Warsaw, ties strengthened by time and history, by the figure of the Pope who remained in the hearts of Italians, but also and above all by the struggle of this nation, to break free from the oppression of Soviet communism that had held Eastern Europe in its clutches for decades”.
“Poland deserves our full recognition for its commitment and huge effort to support the Ukrainian people, in the spirit and with the ability to show extraordinary hospitality, for which all of Europe should be grateful” – she stressed, expressing appreciation for the extraordinary hospitality of Poland, which welcomed crowds of refugees from war-torn Ukraine.
“This should encourage all EU Member States to actively cooperate and to give birth to true European solidarity, the basis for renewed joint planning and facing an uncertain future” – senator Craxi noted.
According to the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the meeting of Minister Arkadiusz Mularczyk in the Italian Senate, security challenges related to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, migration issues, the situation in Belarus and the persecution of the Polish minority by the Belarusian regime, and European solidarity were discussed.
