Last Saturday, March 18, 2023, another meeting with representatives of the Polish community took place at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Bratislava as part of the Animators of the Poland’s Image in Europe project. We would like to thank Mr. Ambassador Krzysztof Strzałka and Mrs. Consul Katarzyna Sołek for their help in organizing this event.
During the meeting, representatives of the Institute of Schuman’s Thought encouraged the Polish diaspora to join the group of animators and get involved in projects promoting current social and political issues, such as: the Universal University of Christian and Social Teaching, as well as the School of Animators of Poland’s Image. Participants were also invited to promote and disseminate the book “Robert Schuman – a man who wanted to save Europe”, to organize the Schuman Thought Competition in schools and Polish communities abroad and take part in the Journey in the footsteps of Schuman, in Metz-Strasbourg, May 7-13, 2023 in connection with the 60th anniversary of Robert Schuman’s death, under the slogan “Schuman the heir to the values of the First Republic of Poland”. In addition, the participants showed great interest in creating a group initiating the opening of a branch of the Institute of Schuman’s Thought in Slovakia.
The event was attended by representatives of numerous organizations operating in the Polish community in Slovakia, not only from Bratislava, but also from Nitra, Žilina and Prešov. A large group of meeting participants connected with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland via the MS Teams internet platform. They were people from, among others, Lithuania, Germany, Sweden and Austria.
