CEO of PGE Wojciech Dąbrowski: Today, Poles are a leader when it comes to energy transformation in the EU

“Poles are today a leader in the energy transformation in the EU. Anyway, it is confirmed by politicians in the European Union – even Mr. Timmermans and Mrs. Kadri Simson, who is the energy commissioner – that it is in Poland that the renewable energy sector is developing most dynamically” – CEO of PGE Wojciech Dąbrowski said during the 3rd Local Government Congress of the Three Seas in Lublin.

“Today, 30 percent of Polish energy is produced from RES. This is a huge success of the Polish power industry, energy companies, but also prosumers” – CEO of PGE, Wojciech Dąbrowski, did not hide his satisfaction with the progress of the Polish energy transformation.

“We are a leader when it comes to the installation of heat pumps. Also the Polish power industry, Polish society, Poles are today a leader when it comes to energy transformation in the EU. Anyway, this is confirmed by politicians in the European Union – even Mr. Timmermans and Mrs. Kadri Simson, who is Commissioner for Energy – that it is in Poland that the sector of renewable energy sources is developing most dynamically” – he emphasized.

At the same time, he noted that “renewable energy sources, unfortunately, will not give us energy security, because they can only be a supplement to the energy sector that will work on a stable basis. Renewable energy will never be stable”. “Of course, we have a great development of energy storage ahead of us, because it is support, the future for the development of RES. The development of RES must be accompanied by the development of large-scale energy storage, because only then RES will be one of the stabilizing elements that will increase energy security” – Dąbrowski added.

“We are a leader when it comes to investments in the Baltic Sea, we are a leader when it comes to offshore, so this will be the main element when it comes to RES in Poland” – he enumerated. “We are an absolute leader in Europe” – the president of PGE emphasized.
