Jan Dziedziczak: The situation is very serious and that is why we must mobilize

“The situation is very serious and that’s why we have to mobilize in every way, and here our Polish diaspora policy is a very important element to counteract Russian imperialism, because it is a fight for the safety of all of us, including Poles here in Poland” – Jan Dziedziczak, the Government Plenipotentiary for the Polish Diaspora and Poles Abroad said during the panel “Polish diaspora media as a creator of preserving Polish identity abroad”, which took place as part of the 32nd Economic Forum in Karpacz.

“We all have to act against Russian aggression and Russian imperialism, because let’s be aware that if, God forbid, Ukraine falls, we are next. And this is not some shorthand” – Jan Dziedziczak said. At the same time, he pointed out that countries that had previously valued neutrality, such as Sweden or Finland, had decided to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

“Let’s think about what the leaders of Finland and Sweden must have read in their intelligence materials to make them suddenly drop everything, postpone forever this status beneficial to them [neutrality – ed.] and want to join NATO very quickly” – the government’s representative for the Polish diaspora and Poles Abroad told during the panel.

“So the situation is very serious and that’s why we have to mobilize in every respect, and here our Polish diaspora policy is a very important element of counteracting Russian imperialism, because it is a fight for the safety of all of us, including Poles here in Poland” – he noted. “We are next, God forbid. May this scenario never come true” – he emphasized.

Jan Dziedziczak stressed the importance of the TVP World channel, which aims to show the perspective of Central Europe. “This is a counteraction to the Russian narrative. This channel has been very well received” – he said. “We’re not idle” – he pointed out.
